How this calculator works
Paint coverage depends on wall area. Calculate: 2×(Length + Width)×Height to get total surface area. Subtract door openings (~1.89 m² each) and window openings (~1.5 m² each).
Standard interior paint covers 12 m² per liter (or 350–400 ft²/gallon). Divide wall area by 12, then multiply by the number of coats. Always round up to the nearest half-liter or gallon.
- One coat: for touch-ups or low-contrast color changes
- Two coats: standard for new walls or same-color painting
- Three coats: when painting dark over light or light over dark
